A painted backdrop created for the title sequence of "Gone With The Wind"
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1939. Oil on board; depicting the iconic Tara as viewed from a distance; created for the elaborate opening credits sequence [the part that notes "At Tara / The O'Hara Plantation in Georgia"], though a slightly different version ended up being used -- one without the bush in the foreground and with an added fence, etc. Painted by noted California plein air fine art artist, Fitch Fulton, who worked as an uncredited matte artist, creating a number of other background paintings for "GWTW."
Framed: 35 x 39in; Painting only: 31 x 36in
