A fine white jade marriage bowl
18th Century
Of compressed globular form with a rolled rim, the floor of its well carved in delicate low relief with lingzhi fungus and rohdia japonica plants, a pair of deeply undercut dragon heads topping the loop handles suspending loose rings on each side, the four lobed feet enclosing a six-petaled flower incised on the underside, the translucent matrix displaying a faint celadon cast marked with icy white inclusions, russet staining and some faint hairline surface fissures.
