This lot features a collection of papers apparently from the estate of De Forest collaborator Ralph D. Lemert, a radio and TV engineer who partnered with De Forest in 1936 in the De Forest Television Corporation, Ltd, and who was in charge of experimental television W6XAH at Bakersfield in the 1930s. Highlights include the following: Photograph Signed ("Lee De Forest") and Inscribed, 8 by 10 inch silver gelatin print, portrait of De Forest, photographer's stamp on verso "Joseph Capitaine," inscribed to Ralph D. Lemert at lower right; a contract between American Television Laboratories and Deforest Television Corporation, March 23, 1936, signed by De Forest partner James W. Garside; a collection of 17 patents relating to film projection and sound technology, 1923-1925; a group of telegrams from De Forest to Lemert; a collection of mimeograph manuscripts issued by the FCC, 1936, including press releases and announcements; typed carbons of correspondence of De Forest, plus small collection of ALSs to De Forest, most from potential investors in the television corporation; A 15 pp Autograph MS on the importance of improving sound quality for radio transmission, 1933, possibly composed by Lemert; 2 pp of technical doodles on De Forest Television Corporation letterhead; and a typed biography of Lemert, among other items.
