With two Tokubetsu Kicho Tosogu (Sword fitting especially worthy of preserving) certificates issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (The society for the preservation of the Japan art sword). The first, no.62, dated 1967.11.4, identifies this tsuba as a Hayashi design. The second, no. 260, dated 1972.10.7 identifies it as a Kyo-sukashi work.
With wood box with attestation by Kanzan Sato identifying the tsuba as Kyo-sukashi work and dated Summer 1972 3 1/8in (7.9cm)
