The first a mokume-ground five case box decorated with rice paddies and various farm implements in gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi and kirikane, lid interior signed [O]gawa with red urn seal; the second of three cases and with Rimpa-style morning glory blossoms and butterflies, bearing the legend Hoitsu-hitsu, executed in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and togidashi on a roiro ground; the third of four cases and featuring recessed figural panels of Chinese scholars and attendants on a garden terrace, the figures inlaid in translucent shell amid gold and iro-e hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and kirikane.
