  • Vernet was born in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad) and studied under Anna Dorothea Terbusch in Berlin. He worked back in his native Prussia as well as in Russia. Schidlof describes him as "An excellent miniaturist some of whose works are reminiscent of Guérin in his first style".
