A superb six person wicker picnic set with built-in table, by G.W. Scott & Sons, 1907,
fine woven dark brown wicker cased, lined lid lifts off to reveal, fully fitted interior with ingenious mechanical fold-out table in light coloured oak, with two hinged leaves and the four cantilever support legs, which are neatly stowed under the table and lock into position when raised to form a solid surface, one leg has the original GWS ivory cartouche English patent plaque ' Patent 14907 ' for 1907. Under the table is the fully fitted interior, housing accessories including a fine rectangular kettle with woven wicker handle and burner, sugar and tea container, tea infuser, set of four matching fine woven covered drinking flasks, set six fine glasses each held in their original leather bindings, a set of six Bishops and Stonier 'Bisto' fine bone china cups and matching all fully Bisto marked unusual patented saucer plates, large rectangular sandwich box with GWS marked ceramic base and nickel lid, two fine nickel food boxes with their inner enamel liners intact complete the inner contents, a full set of fine cutlery is housed around the inside sides of the base in leather straps, early pattern pair 1907 GWS marked preserves and butter ceramic jars, their lids secured by leather straps, fine glass milk and condiment bottles housed in their own wicker compartments, the basket 76cm wide, 48cm deep and 32cm high.

  • Please note that this survivor of the veteran era is extremely heavy, it has wicker carrying handles either end and will need a strong 'chauffeur and footman' to carry it to a suitable picnic site.
