A 'James Bond 007' slot-car racing set, by Scalextric, 1967,
boxed, containing '007' Aston Martin DB5 slot-car in white (lacking rear wheels and bandit) and Mercedes-Benz 190SL in black (lacking passenger), two hand-controllers, 12 Volt DC switch unit, track sections and instruction and service pamphlets, together with spare Aston Martin car (re-painted blue the colour of the vendors DB4), spare Mercedes-Benz body shell and extra hand-controller, this set incorporating features including bullet proof screen on DB5 activated by the 190SL ramming it, a rock on the track which activates the DB5 ejector seat, if the DB5 hits the 190SL a spring overturns the 190SL, in believed working order, used condition, some track sections missing which the vendor guarantees he will replace by the time of sale, and cars in need of repair, box faded.

  • This set was only manufactured between 1967 and 1968, this was due to the then high asking price of £11 and the fact that by the time it was released the latest Bond film 'You Only Live Twice' was at cinemas. Thus this set is very rare and highly sought after today.
