An early 19th century redingote of figured cream silk and a cream silk dress
The redingote coat is decorated down the centre front opening edges with lines of corded self-fabric bands, with the same style of bands circling the sleeves and hem, the high bust is covered in raised floral work, loop cord braiding and thread covered beads, with a large collar, and gathering to centre back, with bow decoration; the accompanying dress is of plain cream silk satin, with piped cordwork decorating the bust, sleeves and hem, with silk gauze and silk fan applications to the highly decorative hem, there is a large stain to the centre of dress, and some wear to lace around the neckline, otherwise both pieces are in a general good condition.
