"Sketches Round About Oxford, by J.T.B., 1886", upwards of 80 pen and ink sketches of country scenes, one per leaf, each within ruled borders, some captioned below in ink, others on the verso in pencil, title on front pastedown within a stylised oval face, the first sketch signed John T. Bayzand, on the rear pastedown is inscribed in ink "This Book was made by John Lucas for 50 years employed at Mr Hayes Book Binder Oxford, August 1886" and below "He died 1889" in a different hand, original cloth, oblong 8vo, [Oxford, 1886-1889]


  • A charming little album, scenes include "Some of the Towers of Oxford"; "Kings Bridge"; "Nr Abingdon Church"; Blenheim Park; "Woodeaten"; Foscombe Hill; Woodeaten House; "Woodeaten Lane, 'Xmas Day 1889, A beautiful Spring Like Morning, Sun Shining out Bright and Warm'"; Bladon Church.
