Pair of commonplace books of East Anglian interest, the first with drawings and cartoons including a watercolour copied from Punch, a sketch in the style of Punch depicting Lloyd George ("The Stamp that wants licking - and the man"), a pen and ink sketch of Danbury from Chelmer Navigation, 1912, with others of the Chelmsford area, a Louis Wain style cartoon, another entitled "Don't marry a footballer" (wife being kicked out of bed by her husband), a leprechaun riding a frog piggy-back, a few miniature sepia portraits, the usual floral embellishments etc., the second compiled by G.E. Parsonson, 1902, including a few watercolours, line-drawings (2 or 3 featuring cartoons of cats) etc., several of the entries from Sudbury, small 4to, [c.1900-1914]; together with a printed pamphlet Haunted Borley, by A.C. Henning, with a foreword by Elizabeth Goudge (3)
