  • An important work on the history and observation of comets, many of the fine plates showing the constellations in the form of classical figures and beasts. The first part gives accounts from all over Europe of the many sightings that took place in December 1664-January 1665, some of which were recorded by Evelyn and Pepys, whilst the second gives a historical chronology of sightings.
