Everett, Edward. An Oration Delivered on the Battlefield of Gettysburg, (November 19, 1863,) at the Consecration of the Cemetery Prepared for the Interment of the Remains of Those Who Fell in the Battles of July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 1863. New York: Baker & Godwin, 1863. 48 pp. Wood-engraved plan of the cemetery. Blue cloth over marbled boards, original printed gray wraps bound in. A few stray spots and smudges but in a near fine copy with wraps in a wonderfully preserved state.

First appearance of Lincoln's Gettysburg address in book form. Howes mentions an earlier, "somewhat garbled" appearance of Lincoln's speech previously appearing in a 16 page Washington pamphlet, The Gettysburg Solemnities of which only two copies are known, but considers the former the true first appearance.
