  • Ill:
Frank, p. 139: "This is an extraordinary belt because of its imaginative design and superb execution. The small, delicate scalloped border, the unusual, finely drawn circle decoration under it, the tiny punched holes, and the delicate twisted wire effect all add to the masterpiece. To top it off, there is the restrained, unique design around the center slot opening and the small patterned, punched holes in the leather belt between the conchas outlining the visibly scalloped edges...Circa 1880."
Schiffer, p. 30: "This belt displays the finest workmanship of the early period, probably that of Slender Maker of Silver, a legend in Navajo jewelry circles. The buckle is original."
