  • Built by Curling & Young and engined by Robert Napier of Glasgow for the British-American Steam Navigation Company, the "British Queen" was the world's largest steamship at the time of her launch in 1838. She made eight round trips from London to New York. Acquired by the Belgian Government in 1841 she was scrapped in 1844.
