Comprising group by James & Ralph Clews, including oval platter with 'The Advertisement for a Wife', (Larsen S.31), length 14 1/8in ; gravy tureen with scenes to both sides and interior 'Doctor Syntax bound to a tree by Highwaymen' (Larsen S.3), ' Doctor Syntax Drawing After Nature', (Larsen S.10) and 'Doctor Syntax Stopt by Highwaymen' (Larsen S.2), length between handles 8 3/4in (22cm), cover with 'Doctor Syntax Pursued By Bull' (Larsen S.7) and undertray with 'The Death of Punch' (Larsen S.30); plate with 'Doctor Syntax Disputing his Bill with the Landlady', (Larsen S.4), diameter 10in (25.5cm) and three cup plates without border, diameters between 4 3/8 and 4 3/4in (11cm and 12cm); Adams cylindrical vase with 'Doctor Syntax Disputing his Bill with the Landlady', height 8 5/8in (22cm) and two cup plates with 'Syntax Taking His Tour' or 'Syntax Stopt by Highwaymen' within relief border, diameter 4 3/4in (12cm).
