- The present Submariner is a particularly rare version of the celebrated reference 5513 model. The Explorer dial Submariners were believed to be produced in very small numbers during the late 1950's early 1960's. Rolex literature from this period shows this dial variation but exact production numbers are not known.
The rarity of this present watch is further enhanced by the 'underline' positioned at the lower half of the dial, and also the double printing of the T<25.
This watch was purchased in 1965 by the current owner's family.
