A French gilt bronze inkstand
by Van de Voords, circa 1900
the two circular inkwell with a foliate lid, on a scrolling acanthus base, signed to the side Van De Voords, on a green marble plinth with a bronze plaque inscribed L'ACADEMIE DE MACON A Armand DUREAULT 9 SEPTEMBRE 1905, 33.5cm wide, 21cm deep, 15cm high (13" wide, 8" deep, 5.5" high).

  • This inkstand was given to Armand Dureault (1849 - 1937) by the Académie de Mâcon, "Société des arts, sciences, belles-lettres, archéologie..." in which he was the Secrétaire perpétuel (1899-1936).
