Footnotes
The very successful Bergman foundry was established in Vienna in 1885 by Franz Bergman. Bergman was born in Gablonz, Bohemia, which was then part of Austria-Hungary. His son Franz Xavier took over the family business, registering the well known trademark stamp of the inverted vase with the "B" in the middle.
