  • The two present paintings could well be part of a set of Allegories of the senses. Several versions of this inventio are known, traditionally ascribed to followers of Abraham Janssens van Nuyssen (Antwerp circa 1575 - 1632). A set was offered at Neumeister Munich, 1 December 1999, lot 553.
