The 13 inch signed circular dial with outer minute band enclosing subsidiary dials for running seconds and hours, attached to the movement via four turned brass feet with knurled screws, the movement plates measuring 27.5cm. x 22.5cm. (10.75" x 8.75"), protected by sliding brass shutters with four heavy turned pillars, the wheels of six crossings meshing with high count pinions terminating in a deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets and maintaining power, the long steel crutch with brass fork and micrometer five beat adjustment to a mercury jar pendulum mounted on a heavy brass block transversing the measurement plates and reading against a silvered beat scale 182cm (71.7in)
