    Frederick John Wilson was born on 9.2.1901, he enlisted into the R.N.A.S. as a boy on 23.1.1918 and transferred to the RAF on 1.4.1918, he served throughout the 1920's and 1930's serving at home and in India. He was promoted to Temporary Flight Sergeant on 1.4.1941; Temporary Warrant Officer 1.10.1941, and then discharged to commission on 5.1.1942. He was granted and emergency commission as Pilot Officer on probation, General Duties Branch on 6.1.1942. He died of illness at R.A.F. Hospital Rauceby on 1.2.1942. Served as a Flying Instructor throughout 1941.

    He died of illness at R.A.F. Hospital Rauceby on 1.2.1942, aged 40, and is buried in Cranwell (St.Andrew) Churchyard.

    Sold with various documentation including details of War Pensions Claim, Full Record of Service, newspaper cutting etc, 9ct gold sweethearts badge, photograph of him with his wife, RAF wings, cigarette case.
