Footnotes

  • Provenance:
    From the Costaguti family collection

The central medallion depicting a putto riding a dolphin and the beaded frame surround can be related to the marquetry perfected by Maggiolini in the late 18th century. Notably we can compare similar dolphins in Giuseppe Beretti, Giuseppe e Carlo Francesco Maggiolini, l'Officina del Neoclassicismo, Milan, 2004.
