New York-based artist Manouchehr Yektai is one of the early key figures in Iranian modernism. Yektai left Iran before the end of World War II. Rooted in his fascination by the milieu of Abstract Expressionism, Yektai's paintings trace the flow of gestural movements. Elegant and energetic impasto characterize the artist's style.
