An engine-turned silver cigar box
maker's mark P & B Ltd, London 1932
rectangular form with sloping sides and raised on four short, scroll-edged bracket feet, the cover presentation engraved within a rectangular panel "Presented to Sir Crisp English KCMG by the Medical School October 1932" and the interior of the cover engraved with five columns of names (approx 107), cedar wood lined, height 10cm, length 31 x 21cm.

  • Sir Crisp English KCMG was one of Sir Winston Churchill's medical advisors during the 1920's and advised on Churchill's appendicitis. Before this, English was an eminent surgeon who served in the Great War and was a member of the War Office Medical Board.
