A Roman marble figural relief
Circa 2nd Century A.D.
Carved in high relief with flat backs, depicting two standing warriors from a battle scene both wearing short draped tunics, with knotted belts at the waist, one facing towards the right holding a large circular shield in his left hand, his head turned back, now missing, the figure to his left with his right arm raised and the right side of his chest and thigh exposed, a small figure of Eros down by his lower left leg and gazing in the opposite direction, 28in (71cm) high, 30in (76cm) diam, in two parts, mounted
