1938 UT-Bark 250cc
Frame no. 27420
Engine no. 25KAL2545
As a motorcycle producer UT is relatively unknown outside of Germany. First established in 1922 production actually continued, with a range of well-equipped post war 2-strokes, until the late 1950s. Like so many smaller concerns UT traditionally relied upon a supply of proprietary engines, including Bark, Blackburne, JAP, Kuchen, and Sachs. Aside from its 'sloping' engine the UT-Bark is conventionally styled. Dry-stored for many years the interesting machine is unfortunately minus certain components including magneto, exhaust system, and rear light fittings, but it will undoubtedly make for a fascinating restoration exercise. This rare 250, sporting an exceptionally low seat height, was acquired by Prof Ehn in 1968, and is supplied without any documentation.
