Reverse Intaglio Carved Lavender Quartz

Part of his 3-D Illusion series, Hargrave has accomplished what many lapidaries dare not perform—precision carving in a near-flawless stone. Suitable either to be mounted as a pendant or used as a display piece, the triangular prismatic form echos the outline of an amethyst crystal. The flat polished front reveals a carved image of great depth. The reverse intaglio carving transforms the subject into a three-dimensional image of an ornamental urn holding a cascading fern plant.
Weighing approximately 53.5 carats and measuring 40.0 x 15.0 x 13.5mm
