Formed as a crouching blackamoor boy, wearing a green jacket and striped belt with a lion skin over his shoulders, supporting on his head a square green cushion with yellow braid and red tassels at the corners, seated on a green cushion edged in yellow with red tassels, 49cm high, 49cm high impressed marks, date code for 1867,

    This model of seat is known with two differing pattern of top cushion. We are grateful to Joan Jones, former Curator of the Minton Museum for confirming that pattern drawings for the present version, in which the top and bottom cushions vary slightly in detail, are present in the Minton Archive.
