c.1959 Go Kart Villiers 200cc
The 1950s saw the emergence of Go Karting as a highly popular leisure activity and increasing sophistication saw speeds little short of full-blown motor racing being achieved. As a spectator sport it was exceptionally entertaining but for the competitor, skidding along minute wheels and seated a matter of inches from the ground it was only for the brave. Many Formula 1 have in later years cut their motor racing teeth on the Go Kart track. The vendor reports the the Villiers 9E 200cc engine was rebuilt approximately 25 years ago, the frame has been restored but the Kart has not been used for about 20 years. It will therefore benefit from the usual careful recommissioning prior to use to its full exciting potential.
