Mounted on a marble base the substantial thick Gothic styled frame with trefoil and quatrefoil cut-outs under two arches connected by a single arch that supports the nest of eight-bells, the triple chain fusee movement with half-deadbeat escapement and rack-striking on a large coiled gong and chiming Westminster and Whittington chimes on eight-bells, the 9.5-inch silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and painted brass hands under subsidiaries for chime/silent and Westminster/Whittington, the clock comes with its glass dome 56cm (22in) high (excluding dome).
