Gilt movement signed Jn Belling Bodmin, pierced and engraved silver balance cock with three arm balance, baluster pillars, verge escapement, fine silver champleve dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic 5 minute divisions, gilt engraved edge 'beetle and poker hands', central cartouche signed Belling, Bodmin and with a crown, thistle and flower in relief, silver inner case and plain hinged silver outer case

- John Belling was born in 1685 and died in 1761 and he is listed as working in Bodmin Cornwall. His sons and grandsons all named John carried on the business in Bodmin until 1873.
