Gilt oval movement signed Richard Masterson Fecit, flat steel balance, pierced and engraved pinned cock, blued steel set up work, rare twisted pillars, silver oval dial with floral engraving, applied silver chapter ring with Roman numerals, silver case with hinged cover with glazed aperture held by three pins, winding shutter to the rear, housed in its original shagreen fitted hinged case with two locking hooks on the side

  • Richard Masterson was free in the Clothmakers company in 1631 and was officially transferred to the Clockmakers Company in 1636. From 1637, he was made Warden, Master in 1642 and he last attended the Company in 1648. He died in 1653.
