  • This drawing is of a painted relief in the temple of Seti I (1294-1279 BC) at Abydos, which depicts the King offering a ritual gold collar and pectoral to Osiris who holds a crook and flail, symbols of the god's kingship in the underworld. Behind Osiris stands Isis, wearing a crownof the sun disc between cow's horns and stretching out her wings to protect him. Above the figure of the King, his praenomen 'Men-Maat-Re' is written in a cartouche. On the far left Seti I makes an offering of cloth to Osiris.
