  • A magnificent catalogue of the celebrated "Cabinet of Curiosities" collected by Augustus Seba, a German-born apothecary. As a member of the Dutch East India Company he was able to gather specimens from his travels, keeping the resulting collection in Amsterdam. The first two volumes were written by Seba. After his death the collection was sold to fund the publishing of the final volumes, the text of which was completed by H. Boerhaave, H.D. Graubius, P. Massuet and P. van Musschenbroek.
