An early 19th century gold mounted 'eye' brooch
The circular brooch centred with a glazed compartment depicting a painted miniature of a lady's eye, with curls of hair on her forehead, the border modelled as a coiled hairwork serpent, with its tail in its mouth, with gem set eye, diameter 2.5cm.
