[iii]-x, [13]-312; iv, [5]-322 pp. Illustrated with 6 plates. 8vo. Original red cloth gilt, all edges gilt; custom quarter morocco slipcase. Scattered few stains including occasional narrow marginal dampstain, clipping and bookplates to endpapers, slight lean, light wear to spine ends and corners, pale dampstain to vol 1 cloth.

First edition, extra gilt binding. This copy in the rarer "C" binding with all cover decorations gilt-stamped and all edges gilt, but red cloth, a color not noted in BAL. BAL 19343.
