A Marilyn Monroe group of Exec-U-Car Inc. receipts, 1962
A Marilyn Monroe group of Exec-U-Car Inc. receipts, 1962
Ten total; dating from "2-8-62" to "2-17-62;" all show that MM was picked up at her NYC apartment [444 East 57th Street] and then driven to places such as "The Actor's Studio, Carnegie Hall, Lowe's State Theatre, Brooklyn, Lilly Dache's, Lord & Taylor, Saks and Sardi's," among a few other places. The most compelling receipts just read "as instructed around town," with one in particular, dated "2-13-62," showing that MM was picked up at 10:15 P.M. and not dropped off until 2:30 A.M. -- wonder where she went that night? Also included are two letters: a typed copy of a note MM's secretary sent to Exec-U-Car Inc. outlining some accounting errors and a typed apology from the car company's secretary noting in part "...thank you for sending the check due us from Miss Marilyn Monroe. We appreciate it and the work given to us by Miss Monroe very much."
Receipts: 5 1/2 x 7in; Letters: 11 x 8 1/2in and smaller
