A large carved jade censer in the form of a qilin
Its head with bulging eyes, open jaw, single horn and curly mane rendered as a series of curving masses highlighted with delicate parallel line incising that repeats on the fetlocks of its four short legs, reticulated tail and remainder of the curly mane that surrounds the rim of its hollowed stocky body; the mottled olive green matrix polished to a soft luster, marked with some opaque pale russet patches, darker russet staining and natural hairline fissures.
