A French breche violette marble, gilt and patinated bronze clock garniture
late 19th century
The case, surmounted by a covered urn, centered by a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and flanked by allegorical figures of Night and Day after Michelangelo, raised on a plinth base with applied drapery ornament and spool feet, the twin train movement with outside count wheel striking on a bell, the backplate with Samuel Marti Medaille d'Or pastille and numbered 8898/3; the companion urns of ovoid form flanked by ram's heads suspending swags, raised on square plinth bases and spool feet.
