Aesop. The Fables of Aesop. Together with the First Three Books of Caxton’s Aesop. Verona: Officina Bodoni, 1973. 3 volumes. Illustrated throughout with woodcuts. Large 8vo. Original green morocco-backed vellum, covers with gilt decorations, slipcase. Fine.

Limited "English edition," no 4 of 30 copies on handmade Magnani paper with goose watermark, of a larger edition of 160 copies. The first volume, the Italian text, has 68 woodcuts by Ann Bramanti (66 full-page), stencil-colored by Daniel Jacomet. The second volume reproduces Caxton's English text. The third volume, issued in only 30 copies, includes the same woodcuts, but uncolored.
