A group of twelve carved jade decorations
Late Qing/Republic Period
The first five of animal motif, including a pale celadon-colored buffalo with a layer of russet skin, a white nephrite cat resting on a tasseled fan, a recumbent horse with a monkey on its back, a ram group carved from a two colored stone, and a pendant carved in openwork with a bat and a floral spray; two figural toggles, each depicting a small boy, carved from white nephrite, two carved as a fox and a grape cluster, the tenth a peach group carved from pale celadon colored nephrite with russet inclusions, mounted with a metal pin, the eleventh a small white nephrite boulder mounted with a metal pin, carved using the stone's natural shape to depict a sage in a mountainous landscape; the last a two-ringed wheel carved with scrolls, centered with a mobile four-petaled flower (some with small chips).
