An unusual and delicate wood sashi netsuke of Ashinaga
19th century
Standing, facing ahead, dressed solely in a loin cloth, his mouth open in an expression of agony as he holds his hands together beneath his emaciated torso, the wood is stained and bears a fine patina, unsigned.
