This shirt was worn by Denis Tueart in the 1976 Football League Cup Final which took place between Manchester City and Newcastle United on 7 March 1976 at Wembley Stadium. It was the sixteenth final and the tenth Football League Cup final to be played at Wembley. Manchester City won the match 21 to win the competition for the second time. The match is best known for its winning goal, an overhead scissor kick by Dennis Tueart. Includes letter of authenticity signed by Denis Tueart.

Dennis Tueart (born 1949 in Manchester) played for Sunderland and Manchester City at club level. On the international scene, he won six full caps for England. He first came to the nation's attention as a member of Sunderland's 1973 F.A. Cup winning team. In March 1974 Tueart signed for Manchester City. In 1978, he crossed the Atlantic to join New York Cosmos, where he remained until 1980, when he re-signed for Manchester City. He finally left Manchester City as a player at the end of the 1982-83 season, following City's relegation. Tueart later became a director of the club until July 2007.
