A Meissen oval sugar box and cover
Circa 1724.
Each moulded with four gilt-edged fluted divisions, finely painted in the manner of J.G. Höroldt with chinoiserie scenes depicting figures and various animals, the vignettes on the cover above bands of gilt Laub- und Bandelwerk, 12cm across, K.P.M. and crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (cover flange chipped, small flat chip to underside of rim of cover, some flaking to gilt rim and wear to scrollwork on cover) (2)
