Nude study bronze with a green patina 62 cm. (24 1/2 in.) long
The style, technique, technical accomplishment and scale of the present work is entirely consistent with Epstein's many studies of statuesque West Indian model, Betty Peters, carried out during the 1943-45 period. Several of these nude studies were exhibited at the Leicester Galleries in 1947 although not all of them have been possible to identify.
We are grateful to Dr Evelyn Silber for her assistance with cataloguing this lot.
