Thomas Lawson, Keighley
The hood with fretted swan-necked pediment with enamel plaques depicting a mother and child, over double reeded columns with brass Corinthian capitals, the trunk with freestanding blind-fretted columns, shaped door, the panelled base with blind frets to the canted corners on bracket feet, the 13 inch painted dial with gilt gesso corner decoration, Roman numerals, Arabic five-minute markers, subsidiary seconds and calendar dials with moonphase to the arch, the weight-driven movement with anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell 236cm (7ft9in) high.
