This was the first of several appearances at this venue by Elvis, Scotty and Bill. According to Scotty, a meeting was arranged between shows with Sam Phillips, Colonel Parker and manager Bill Neal. The meeting was to introduce Elvis and the boys to the Colonel but things did not go well as the Colonel expressed the opinion that Elvis would not go very far on a small label like Sun and, to this end, had already made moves for RCA to buy Elvis' contract. Just over a week later, the Colonel became formally involved with Elvis Presley's career when he reportedly helped book him an appearance in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
