the good two-train four-pillar movement stamped No. 9666, and balanced cylinder escapement striking on a bell, the dial with roman numerals and trés-mince minute divider band in black on plain rectangular white enamel ground, (faded) blued cloverette hands, actuation rod to separate singing bird movement in the base with small single-spring motor, petit bellows and twin-cam rod linage to humming bird, with iridescent plumage in predominant tones of green with matt highlights of red and black, surrounded by naturalistic foliage of dried and coloured silk flowers and stems, rocky moss-laden mount, the bird moving side-to-side and quickly dipping elongated beak into the flowers for the 'nectar', concealed manual start push to underside for automaton, the case in sectional-form plain and tooled ormolu, top swing handle above bevelled glass bird enclosure, full-column timepiece frame and large plinth base with geometric yet simplistic foliate designs, with double-headed key, - 12.1/2in.
