circa 1820,
No. 2040, playing Mel cor piu mon me Sento and God Save the King, with single-section comb of approximately 65 teeth stamped F. NICOLE under clear horn cover, the bedplate underside signed R 8/67 F. Nicole Levarlt - most probably a repairer's mark, in small plain tortoiseshell case featuring busy blond anomalies including underside, gold piano hinge, shield cartouche and start/stop and change/repeat button washer fittings, with a period square H. Samuel (Manchester) key, (rear of lid repaired, some fatigue to case body) - 2.15/16in. (7.4cm) wide, the cylinder 2in. (5.1cm)
